Whether it’s been a year or a month of your current lifestyle, we have holistic practices at hand because they feel right to us. Not all things are for the same person but there’s at least 1 practice that feels so right to you. There’s infinite ways to live holistically but now, we wish to shed light on why we choose to do so. It clearly feels better to live a life of alignment and fulfillment. We can’t always do so, but every moment that we consciously choose to do something to benefit our wellbeing, is a magical one.
Diving into the world of holistic living is one of the most exciting paths to begin. The ways in which we can align to our true self are infinite. While there’s many different paths to discover & adopt, we encourage you to go along with what truly feels right in your heart. We strongly believe that each of us knows which form of healing is best for us, while others can give guidance along the way.
In Ayurveda, things are also described by the 3 gunas (meaning qualities). Sattva is a form of pure bliss, causing no harm, only wellbeing. Rajas is the form of action, creation and stimulation. Rajas may lighten an energy that is too heavy & get it beneficially moving or it may cause excess movement in a lighter energy & overstimulation. Tamas is the form of stagnation & heavy energy. It may bring balance to an energy that is too light & flightly, introducing groundedness. It may also cause too much complacency.
The ways in which we choose to balance our energies are quite defining. Try not to take them too seriously or feel guilty if a practice is not meant for you- you’ll know it, but choose to let it go. Life is an experiment of self discovery & creation. Let that lighten the load and remember to dance & play throughout.
When juice fasting is the trend & all your friends are doing it, but you feel anxious and extremely gassy from it, it is not your Sattva. When you try hot yoga but you overheat easily and notice increased impatience with a side of burning indigestion, it is not your Sattva. When your friends are all into experimenting with shamanic experiences but you seem to have a deep hollowness within & need something softer, it is not your Sattva. Knowing how to recognize what is for you and what you should step away from is a super power. To choose when you wish to be influenced is balancing.
Sometimes staying at home, avoiding the social gathering because you know you will experience bliss from a candle lit bath is your Sattva. The fear of missing out may arise, but know that as you begin gaining momentum of choosing the right experiences for you, your aligned community will arise as well. The people that honor your choices and personal freedom, are the ones that support your Sattva. Take a few moment this week & practice deciding which actions are Sattvic, Rajasic & Tamasic. See how they benefit you or trickle off into imbalance. In Ayurveda, we practice balancing everything in our lives by their qualities. Heavy grounds lightness, stimulation activates stagnation & spice ignites.
As we all dive into our different forms of living holistically, sharing the journey can spark true connections. Try following some new tags on instagram that will show you what truly inspires you & makes you happy. The world we surround ourselves in, strongly reflects within our wellbeing too. Self awareness is a superpower we hope to help you embrace. Enjoy the week lovelies!
